Research at the Jacobs Center on Lifelong Learning and Institutional Development
No aspect of modern life remains unaffected by the rapid knowledge turnover, increasing life expectancies, and profound globalization that have become ubiquitous to contemporary existence. As economic, cultural and social lives become increasingly more complex and intertwined, institutions as diverse as business, governments, higher education providers, and individuals, face changing circumstances that must be addressed in new and innovative ways.
The Jacobs Center pursues excellence in research in order to better understand the processes and conditions of productive adult development. To tackle some of the most challenging and important questions facing modern industrialized societies today, an interdisciplinary research approach has been institutionalised.
